It’s Back to School season, so to honor your return to art class, we’ve compiled some personal stories and projects in our Liberal Arts series to help you rethink or reshape your educated perspective.
With a keen eye for the urban landscape, renowned photographer Lloyd Ziff captures the essence of a city with unwavering frankness in New York/Los Angeles, Photographs: 1967-2015, a two-volume collection with over 40 years of pictures. His photographs are direct and unequivocal.

Since 2000, after a career in art direction, Lloyd Ziff has made photography the sole focus of his career. His photographs are part of the permanent collections of The Palm Springs Art Museum and The International Center of Photography in New York, as well as having been published in many of the world’s most prestigious magazines, such as The New York Times Magazine, Condé Nast Traveler, Rolling Stone, Vanity Fair an kid’s wear Magazine, and have been also included in Patti Smith’s autobiography, Just Kids.

New York/Los Angeles, Photographs: 1967-2015 is a beautiful collection of compelling images of life in two of America’s most exciting cities, as seen through the eye of photographer Lloyd Ziff. This two-volume publication encompasses more than 40 years of black/white and color photography. As both cities change before Ziff’s inquiring camera lens, his unique vision emerges, amused and ironic, finding beauty and surprise in daily urban life.
